DPWH constructs flood mitigation project in P’sinan town
THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is constructing a flood mitigation structure along Balingcaguing River in Aloleng Village, Agno town.
Esperanza Tinaza, DPWH in Ilocos regional public information officer, said the flood mitigation project, being implemented by the DPWH-First District Engineering Office, seeks to improve and protect coastal agricultural lands in Agno town.
She said once completed, the flood control structure will prevent water intrusion, protecting residents and properties near the river from possible flooding during heavy rains.
Agno is a coastal town known for its white sand beaches. It is also rich in fishery and agricultural products which allows them to export their produce to other places. (PIA Pangasinan/AMMB)
