THE number of active COVID-19 cases is back to a single digit on April 11 in Pangasinan but this gain was overshadowed by two consecutive deaths – one on April 10 and another on April 11.

According to the Provincial Health Office (PHO,) from 11 active cases recorded on April 7, it was down to 9 because five new recoveries were registered with only four new cases recorded for the four-day period up to April 11. However, two new deaths were logged.

It only means that COVID-19 still remains deadly despite the fact that that the cases were limited to only six towns and one city.

The nine remaining cases were located in Binmaley and Mangaldan (2 each), and one each in Calasiao, San Fabian, Sison, Sto. Tomas and Urdaneta City.

The province’s 42 towns and three cities were COVID-free as of April 11.

Pangasinan remained under Alert Level 1 as of April 11 and the province is eyeing to attain an Alert Level 0 status.  (Leonardo Micua)
