SECOND APPEAL STRONGER

WITH barely a month remaining before the day of reckoning, Vice President Leni Robredo remains optimistic that she will take the reins for the Presidency.

In an ambush interview by local media on Friday, April 8, Robredo, still hopes that surveys may be a thing, but does not conclude the results at the end of the day.

“If there is one lesson na natutunan ko sa mga eleksyon it’s not over til it’s over”, said Robredo.

Robredo has since believed it true as she also in the same manner during the 2016 Elections.

She also described how it also happened during the 2010 elections, when then-Vice President Binay made a come-from-behind win.

In the most recent survey by the Pulse Asia on March 17 to 21, Robredo, despite still floating in the second place behind Bongbong Marcos, has recorded a plus nine percentage points (+9) increase in her figure, from 15 to 24.

Robredo trusts her surging momentum, thanks to her supporters, including here in Pangasinan, one of the four provinces comprising the Ilocos Region and a known stronghold of the Marcoses.

Back in 2016, Robredo lost in the province of Pangasinan. She only gained 265,016 votes, against opponent Bongbong Marcos who dominated Pangasinan with 832,711 votes.

Robredo thinks she would fare better in Pangasinan this time.

“Mas hopeful ako na mas mataas yung numbers na makukuha ko ngayon.”, she said.

“May mga volunteers na nag-self organize, volunteers na walang pagod nag iikot, active involvement ng napakaraming sector, wala ito noon”, she added. (Ahikam Pasion)
