Talk of the town: Guv Pogi in posters with presidentiables
NOT a few eyebrows were raised on seeing different campaign posters of Governor Amado Espino III showing him with names and faces of the six presidential aspirants individually and separately across the province leading others to wonder – who is Guv Pogi really endorsing for president?
When confronted with the question in an interview over over Aksyon Radyo Pangasinan, Atty. Geraldine Baniqued, provincial legal officer, clarified that the posters were not produced and posted by the camp of Governor Espino.
Observers noted that the posters had the same picture of the governor and bore the logos of “Tatak Espino” and “API party list” with names of faces of presidentiables Lacson, Marcos, Moreno, Pacquiao and Robredo in separate posters.
“Hindi namin masabi pero baka they might come from our kaluyagans who favor Governor Espino along with some other presidentiables,” she said and was adamant in denying that that these originated from the governor’s camp.
At the same time, she said they cannot stop individuals and groups from associating the governor with their preferred presidential candidates.
“Hindi rin po natin madiktahan mga kababayan natin kung ang kanilang nasa puso ay si Governor Espino pero iba ang kanilang president. This is an expression of their support, and hindi po natin ito pwedeng i-curtail”, said Baniqued. (Ahikam Pasion)
