During the observance of Fire Prevention Month this March, all fire stations in the province are placed on heightened alert status to enable a quick response to anticipated fire incidents since March is the hottest month of the year and historically has the highest fire incidence recorded.
She gave the tip following tips:
- Dispose of flammable materials properly and always be attentive when cooking as kitchen fires are the most common fire incidents being recorded by BFP.
- Have electrical wirings in homes and workplaces checked regularly, changed or repaired by a licensed electrician.
- Regularly unplug unused appliances and avoid overloading electrical sockets.
- In case of fire, never stay inside a bathroom.
Galano also discouraged the installation of grills on windows to prevent fire victims from being trapped inside and encouraged to families and employees to do fire exit drills. (PIA-Pangasinan/EMSA)
