Celeste is good, but OO is better
By Gonzalo Duque
I AM really for Oscar Orbos to win in the First District of Pangasinan. He’s been a governor, congressman, executive secretary and Department of Transportation and Communications secretary. I can say that today’s congressional battle is the most important challenge for him.
I really do hope and pray that God would be with him. It’s a hard fight but eventually, he must win. A salute to him.
If Oca wins, I will give him some tips on the state of our education in the country so that he can articulate it in Congress. He can craft certain measures that could uplift our educational system for our young people to benefit from.
This is the reason why I am praying that he should win.
I have nothing against his opponent Art Celeste. He too has a lot of credentials to present—being provincial Liga president, three-term congressman and mayor of Alaminos City. Not because I love Celeste less, but may be, I love Oscar Orbos more. Being a lawyer of note and a top debater, Oscar could articulate on any topic and on any subject for the good of the people during these hard times.
Mabuhay ka OO!

The past week has not been good to me. My daughter Peebles was rushed to the hospital in Manila for some ailment. I cannot tell the story behind what happened to her in the meantime,
As they say, life is like a cycle. There are times when we are happy and there are times too that we are feeling blue and down. I am happy right now that she has overcome her sickness and continues to recover.
She is now in the house recovering and was prescribed by her doctors to take some anti-biotics.
Please pray for her so that she can recover fast.

I took notice of certain Facebook post about Google engagements between arch-rivals Bongbong Marcos and Leni Robredo. It would seem that between the two, Robredo is ahead of Marcos.
But I also noticed that only Robredo and Marcos were considered in the engagement. The other four candidates-Isko Moreno Domogoso, Manny Pacquiao, Ping Lacson and Leody de Guzman have yet to be included.
In my view, this is not a fight between Marcos and Robredo as of the moment . It might be a fight between Marcos and all the other candidates. As I said before, kung sila (candidates) ay nagkawatak-watak, the claim that Marcos will become the first majority president after the EDSA people power revolution can happen.
I see that there’s going to be a close contest among all the presidential candidates. Let us see when the Google engagement is completed. The total picture of the engagement should be presented as each candidate has a following everywhere as shown by the crowds joining their respective rallies.
Any day has always a different flavor. I remember the fabled Tour of Luzon when my good friend and now fellow columnist Jess Garcia Jr., who was the overall leader of the race all the way but had a bad stomach in the deciding lap, which changed the entire picture of the standing. For that, he was not able to get the crown in that tour.
But of course, eventually, Biking Jess eventually became Tour of Luzon champion and went on to collect two other crowns in succeeding national biking races.
This could happen too in the presidential race. There are still a lot of time to go before the elections. So, let’s just wait and see!
