Lingayen’s tricycle fare rates back to P10

THE fare rates for tricycles and pedicabs in the capital town of Lingayen is back to the pre-pandemic fare since full seating capacity is allowed anew.

Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil issued the Executive Order No. 12-2022 on March 1 that took effect immediately stating that the fare rate applicable for tricycles and pedicabs is what’s prescribed in Sangguniang Bayan Ordinance No. 25, S-2014, as amended by SB Ordinance No. 46, 2015, that states a ₱10 minimum rate for the first 3 kilometers and an additional ₱2 for every additional kilometer.

Drivers must extend a 20 percent discounted rate for students, senior citizens, and persons with disability and will apply fare rate of ₱8 for the first 3 kilometers and an additional ₱2 for every additional kilometer will be charged.

Special trip is upon the agreement of the driver and passenger(s).

Bataoil issued E.O., provided for the Guidelines in the Municipality of Lingayen under Alert Level 1.

It will be recalled that at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, tricycles and pedicabs were only allowed to ferry one passenger at a time.

In response, the municipal council of Lingayen enacted SB Ordinance No. 82, S-2020, prescribing a fare rate schedule applicable during times health emergencies like the pandemic. (Eva Visperas)
