GOVERNOR Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III will enter into and sign Memorandum of Agreement with the Municipality of Sta. Barbara and the Municipality of Calasiao for the availment of services of the Pangasinan Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory.

During their regular physical session on February 14, the Pangasinan provincial board unanimously approved twin resolutions Proposed Provincial Resolutions No. 3468-2022 and 3469-2022 for the said purpose.

In the two resolutions, both authored by Fourth District Board Member Jeremy Agerico B. Rosario, it was noted that both municipalities expressed their interest in availing the services of the molecular diagnostics laboratory to have access to quality and affordable laboratory diagnostic services.

The molecular diagnostics laboratory of the provincial government, located at the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in San Carlos City, is capable of providing accurate and precise laboratory results including but not limited to RT-PCR results for COVID-19 related cases for a shorter period of time.

“The Pangasinan Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory was established to cater to the needs of the people of Pangasinan and nearby localities for various COVID-19 related activities in order to help the country in the fight against the pandemic,” the resolutions stated.

The resolutions also stressed that both municipalities agreed to pay the cost of testing in excess of the package amount under PhilHealth Circular No. 2021-0001 for COVID-19 testing by realtime RT-PCR done by the molecular diagnostics laboratory for the constituents of the municipalities.  /Shiella Mae DG.
