150 cops donate blood on Valentine’s Day
SOME 150 police personnel of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) donated their blood, as part of the 31st Philippine National Police (PNP) Foundation Day Celebration and Valentine’s Day.
The PPPO partnered with the Philippine Red Cross-Pangasinan Chapter under the program “Alay na Dugo, Dugtong ng Buhay mo” to augment the blood supply at the Red Cross Blood Bank that patients can access in case of emergency.
PPPO information officer P/Maj. Katelyne Awingan said the bloodletting was an extension of the services of the PNP to enhance its partnership with the community.
Police trainee, Pat. Roma Baldueza said she felt privileged to be able to donate blood that people needing a blood transfusion can use.
“Kahit di ko kilala kung sino ang makakatanggap ng dugong inalay ko, masaya dahil alam kong may matutulungan ako sa simpleng paraan,” she said. (Jerick Pasiliao)
