Region 1 tops in COVID-19 vaccination in PH
REGION 1 leads the 17 regions in the country in successfully accomplishing their respective targets for COVID-19 vaccination rollout at 67.9 percent as of January 30, 2022.
The National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) reported 3.4 million individuals in Region 1 were fully vaccinated, from a total of 5,353,139 eligible population targeted for vaccination., leaving only 1,938,358 individuals that need to be vaccinated.
Of the 3.4 million individuals fully vaccinated, 1.8 million individuals or more than one half were from Pangasinan.
Region 2 ranks second in vaccination rollout with its 58.3 % accomplishment of targeted 922,179 individuals, followed by Region 6 (Western Visayas) with 55.95 percent accomplishment of its target of 2,533,921.
Gov. Amado Espino III lauded the province’s health sector for its excellent accomplishment in the COVID-19 vaccination program, enabling the province closer to herd immunity.
According to Provincial Health Officer Anna de Guzman, Pangasinan only needs to inoculate 233,215 more to register 90 % accomplishment to make Pangasinan safer from COVID-19. (Leonardo Micua)
