Only over 321K residents in region got booster shots

OUT OF 3.1-M FULLY VACCINATED

SOME 327,366 residents in the Ilocos Region have been inoculated with booster shots doses anti-COVID vaccines (as of February 3).

According to the Department of Health Center for Health Development in Ilocos Region (DOH-CHD-1), the number represents only 10.% of the 3.1 million fully vaccinated persons in the region.

Meanwhile, the fully vaccinated residents represent 58.3 percent of the target population in the region.

In Pangasinan, 1.62 million (54% of its 2.98 million target population) were already fully vaccinated, while 111,884 (60.0% out of its 183,431 target population)n in Dagupan were fully inoculated.

In La Union, 486,154 residents in La Union (57% of its 842,047 target population were vaccinated while In Ilocos Sur, 488,775 residents (67.4% of  724,395 target population and Ilocos Norte’s, 415,755 (67.4% ) of its 620,052 target population were vaccinated.

The total number of doses administered in the region reached 6.56 million.

He said, the region targets to complete 70 percent for population protection by the first

Quarter (ending March) by focusing on areas that have a low vaccination rate.” DOH-CHD-1 COVID-19 focal person Dr. Rheuel Bobis said.

Meanwhile, 97,266 out of the 112,704 COVID-19 confirmed cases in the region have already recovered as of February 3.

There were 13,083 confirmed active cases with 97.8 percent of them having mild symptoms, or are even asymptomatic (as of February  3). (Jerick Pasiliao)
