VICE President Leni Robredo formally launched the 138th Community Learning Hub of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) in Alos Elementary School in Alaminos City last Sunday, January 30.

The project, an initiative of the OVP in partnership with the Department of Education and local government units amid the pandemic, aims to assist students needing gadgets and a place where pupils can study.

“Marami na ang success stories. Yung mga non-readers, nakakapagbasa na. Yung mga bata na walang tumutulong sa pamilya, may napupuntahan na sila,” she told her audience.

Robredo said out of the initial 59 learning hubs nationwide, over 5,000 pupils have already “graduated” under the project.

Aside from the Community Learning Hub, Robredo also brought to the province’s Capital town of Lingayen the Swab Cab where free antigen testing was administered to the residents of the e town and nearby towns.

Residents that tested positive were given COVID-19 Care Kit that contained Carbocisteine, Phenylpropanolamine Hydrochloride/Chlorphenamine Maleate and Vitamin C tablets.

The Vice President proceeded to San Manuel town to meet with her supporters.

Ang pinaka-aral na nakuha ko (as Vice President), kapag nagiging matapat tayo sa resources ng bayan, maraming matutulungan,” she said during the ‘quick meet and greet’ in San Manuel.

In Dagupan City, she was welcomed by Archbishop Socrates Villegas at the St. John the Evangelist Cathedral, together with members of clergy of Lingayen-Dagupan Archdiocese.

Robredo also met with former Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez and Leni Supporters at the CSI Stadia. (Jerick Pasiliao)
