3 municipal halls closed due to COVID-19
THE municipal halls of Calasiao, Infanta and Bugallon are temporarily closed due to rising COVIID cases in their towns that infected their towns’ employees.
The municipal building in Calasiao is in lockdown until Aug. 31 as new cases of COVID-19 among employees continue to rise, based on an advisory, citing Mayor Joseph Arman Bauzon’s Executive Order No. 104.
Only the following offices are ordered to continue their normal operations and to observe regular office hours: the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office, and the Public Order and Safety Office.
Bauzon also issued another executive order on the citing the guidelines for the operation of the Calasiao Public Market to prevent the further increase of COVID-19 cases in the municipality.
The Calasiao Public Market shall be open 4:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday every week and closed every Sunday for regular disinfection.
As of Aug. 18, Calasiao logged 10 new additional COVID cases and one death, bringing the total active cases to 113.
Infanta Mayor Marvin Martinez issued an executive order extending the temporary lockdown of all government offices and buildings of the local government except the Rural Health Unit and the Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office from Aug. 16 to 31 due to COVID cases.
Martinez acknowledged the increase of COVID cases in the town and three employees of the local government were confirmed COVID positive while others are on self-quarantine.
Meanwhile, Bugallon Mayor Priscilla Espino also issued another executive order also extending the declaration of temporary lockdown of the municipal building from Aug. 16 to 20.
She said that as a disease surveillance mechanism, all employees of Bugallon government were subjected to antigen test on Aug. 9 to 12 , and yielded more positive cases.
She added that those tested positive in antigen test on August 8, 2021 were subjected to RT-PCR for confirmatory test likewise found them to be positive “and as such, all other employees in their respective offices are considered close-contact therefore they will undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine”.
