VM Kua, all city councilors in quarantine
BACK TO VIRTUAL SESSIONS
MEMBERS of the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP0, including Vice Mayor Dan Bryan Kua), placed themselves in quarantine after they were exposed to one of their colleagues who turned positive for COVID-19.
City Secretary Ryan Ravanzo said that based from Councilor Librada Reyna-Macalanda’s post on her Facebook account, she tested positive for COVID-19 but although she is asymptomatic and is presently confined at the Villaflor Doctors Memorial Hospital.
Because of what happened, the SP August 17 session was held via zoom and the August 24 session will again be held via zoom.
Informed of Councilor Reyna’s situation, Vice Mayor Dean Bryan Kua and the councilors took rapid test and the confirmatory RT-PCR test. Kua was the first to post that he tested negative in his RT-PCR test.
Councilor Jose Netu Tamayo posted his photo while he was undergoing the swab procedure for an RT-PCRF test.
Next to submit a negative result was Councilor Luis Chito Samson who was swabbed at their family-owned Luzon Medical Center. Subsequently, all councilors presented negative results in their RT-PCR tests.
Ravanzo believed it was on Wednesday (August 11) when all the councilors, including Vice Mayor Kua, had an informal meeting and it was there when their exposure to Councilor Macalanda might have taken place.
On August 19, the session was suspended in deference to the death of the husband of Councilor Teresa Coquia who succumbed to heart attack, according to Ravanzo. (Leonardo Micua)
