SOME 607 essential workers belonging to the A4 priority group in Region 1 have been fully vaccinated.

This was confirmed by Ilocos Region Center for Health Development’s (CHD-1) Dr. Rheuel Bobis, focal person for COVID-19 last Sunday, July 25, based on reports from local government units in the region after 12,333 persons in the 54 localities were inoculated their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

Bobis said the selection of the 54 towns was based on the memorandum or advisory from the National Vaccination Center that only l high-risk towns will begin vaccination of A4 priority group determined by the Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (RESU).

Based on the government’s vaccine prioritization, A4 (essential workers) are employees from the private-sector who need to be physically present in their workplace; employees in government agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned or controlled corporations and local government units; informal sector workers; and self-employed individuals who work outside their homes and those working in private households.
