PANGASINAN EFFORTS PAYING OFF

WHILE the number of COVID -19 cases continues to rise in Metro Manila and other areas in the country, the number of COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan again continues its downtrend with 690 compared to the new cases recorded numbering 411, and 11 deaths.

According to the data from Provincial Health Office (PHO), the number of active cases in the province is down to 780, as of July 22, from 886 last July 14 while pointing out that no Delta variant has been detected on specimens of patients found positive for COVID-19.

The biggest upsurge of cases was noted on July 21 when 113 new cases were logged while only 64 patients recovered. Meanwhile, recoveries were high on July 20 when 184 patients were discharged from hospitals and in their home and facilities quarantine against 48 new cases.

As of July 22, there were already 14,052 confirmed cases recorded. Of the number 12,898 hands recovered while 443 had died.

Fears that the Delta variant spawned the spike of cases in the National Capital Region, officials of the provincial IATF are reportedly planning to impose new restrictions in all the border areas of the province to check the entry of persons that may be carrying the Delta strain. (Leonardo Micua)
