Binmaley residents receive Abig Pangasinan aid
RESIDENTS of Barangay Parayao, Binmaley were the recent beneficiaries of the provincial government’s Abig Pangasinan program that provides economic, medical and livelihood assistance.
Second District Board Member Nestor Reyes told residents that the provincial government under the direction of Gov. Amado Espino III that while developing infrastructure is important, the strengthening of capabilities of Pangasinenses to cope with everyday life as a community is equally important.
Among the services brought by the second Abig Pangasinan to Binmaley were Abig Laman ed Barangay-Kalusugan Karaban, Kabuhayan Palengke Karaban, Karagdagang Pangkabuhayan (Cash for Work), Kalinisan Karaban, Food Production Support, Veterinary Services, and Information Desks for Livelihood Assistance Program and Tulong sa Pagsasanay at Trabaho.
The Abig Laman ed Barangay or the Kalusugan Karaban provided medical consultations to 650 residents, 173 Laboratory Tests (58 Blood Sugar Test, 10 Blood Typing, 18 Urinalysis, 19 HGB/HCT, 25 Cholesterol Tests, 36 Uric Acid, and 1 Pregnancy Test), 57 Chest X-Ray, 62 ECG, and 50 Skin Disease Consultations.
The 39 local vendors were helped by the Kabuhayan Palengke Karaban program by purchasing their local farm and fisheries products.
The Kalinisan Karaban collected 2, 060 kilos of recyclable plastic wastes from 128 residents in Barangay Parayao and ten southern barangays that were exchanged for goods such as grocery items, rice and cellphone load for P20.00 per kilogram.
Thirty-five fishermen and farmers groups and associations, and the Barangay and SK councils received 33 units of knapsack sprayers, 6 water pumps, 21, 000 tilapia fingerlings, 3, 000 fruit bearing tree seedlings, 52 trays of assorted vegetable seedlings and 80 units of gillnets through the Food Production Support program.
It also turned over a unit of grass cutter to the Parayao Barangay Council to support the clearing program of the barangay.
Fifteen members from vulnerable sectors received P 400-cash pay-out from the Cash for Work program for their assistance during the Abig Pangasinan.
Free Anti-Rabies and Deworming vaccinations for the cats and dogs of the residents were also offered by the Provincial Veterinary Office.
Binmaley Mayor Simplicio Rosario thanked the Provincial Government of Pangasinan and Gov. Espino for staging anew the Abig Pangasinan in their municipality. (PIO/JCS)
