PNP Chief Eleazar allured at P’sinan’s beauty

PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) Chief Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar extolled the beauty of Pangasinan led by Governor Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III during his first visit in the province on June 30.
“Talaga namang napakaganda ng lugar na ito. This is my first time to be here even in the Capitol Compound and here in Sison Auditorium. Talaga namang pwedeng ipagmalaki at dayuhin,” PNP Chief Eleazar said.
Eleazar noted that his visit intends to strengthen the programs and efforts of the national police.
The PNP chief arrived in the province on board a helicopter which landed at the Lingayen Airport then headed to the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office (PPPO) for a quick tour.
The PNP chief paid a courtesy call on Governor Pogi at the Provincial Capitol where he was joined by: Director for Police Community Relations PMGEN Rhodel O. Sermona, Directorate for Integrated Police Operations – Northern Luzon Director PLTGen Marni Marcos Jr, Directorate for Police Community Relations Deputy Director PBGen. Harris Fama, PNP Regional Dir. Emmanuel Peralta, and Pangasinan PPO Provincial Director Ronald Gayo.
Second District Representative Jumel Anthony I. Espino, Board Member Jeremy Agerico I. Espino, Liga ng mga Barangay Provincial President Jeanne Jinky Zaplan, League of the Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Provincial President Leopoldo Bataoil, Lingayen Vice Mayor Juday Vargas-Quiocho, Dagupan City Mayor Marc Brian Lim also graced the courtesy call.
Shortly after the courtesy call, PNP Chief Eleazar and Gov. Pogi led the ceremonial awarding of supplies and equipment from the Pangasinan Provincial Government to Pangasinan Provincial Police Office (PPO) at the Capitol Plaza.
The supplies and equipment forms part of the support of LGU-Pangasinan to “Pulis at Komunidad As One Barangayahinan,” an advocacy program of the Philippine National Police in response to COVID-19.
Among the supplies and equipment donated by the province to Pangasinan PPO are: 50 sacks of rice, 50 boxes of noodles, 50 boxes of canned goods, and 500 pcs of face masks and 500 pcs of face shields.
The said donation is intended to be distributed to beneficiaries of the “Pulis at Komunidad As One Barangayahinan,” to include indigent families, displaced workers, senior citizens and farmers in different parts of the province.
Furthermore, the provincial government also awarded 20 units of 60-watt solar lights and 10 units of water pumps intended for Ilaw Project of the PNP for Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAS) and additional 20 units of android phones to be distributed to police personnel manning border checkpoints for effective implementation of S-PASS.
The PNP chief also administered the oath-taking ceremony of Provincial Coalition Lingkod Bayan Officers and other advocacy groups at the Sison Auditorium where he was joined by other provincial executives led by Gov. Pogi.
In his speech, Gov. Pogi assured of the provincial government’s constant support of the undertakings of the PNP, particularly in sustaining peace and order in Pangasinan.
“Rest assured, ladies and gentlemen, of the commitment of the provincial government for peace and order in the whole province. If there is no order, there will be no peace. Kung walang katahimikan, wala pong progreso sa probinsya ng Pangasinan,” Gov. Pogi bared highlighting the strong partnership between PNP and LGU-Pangasinan.
The provincial chief executive also called for unity and cooperation among Pangasinenses.
“Suportahan po natin at ipagpatuloy ang ating pagkakaisa dahil tayo namang lahat na narito ngayon ay iisa lang ang adhikain na maging tahimik sa ating komunidad, maging progresibo at tahimik din ang buong probinsya ng Pangasinan,” Gov. Pogi added.
On the other hand, PNP Chief Eleazar exhorted station, district, provincial and regional directors to strictly implement policies of the organization as he reiterated Gov. Pogi’s call for support to attain peace and order and progress.
“Alam natin na napakahalaga ng role ng mga pulis ‘yun ay kailangang tugunan ng tulong ng ating sambayanan partikular ang local chief executives. Beloved Governor Espino has said earlier, hindi natin maa-attain ang economic development kung walang peace and order,” the PNP chief also said.
PNP Chief Eleazar sworn into office leaders of 11 advocacy and support groups, namely: Vilma Q. Dalope (President) – Kaligtasan at Kalikasan; Armand D. Ang (Vice President) – Alliance of Industrial Peace Program; Rev. Dr. Nwosu Ngozi Blessing (President) – Foreign National Keepers Network; Voltaire Tolentino (President) – National Coalition of I.T. Advocates for Change; Arsenio Quenaño (President) – Force Multipliers; Jelly Martinez (Secretary) – Women Sector; Erickson Centeno (President) – Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender; Christine Ferrer (President) – Barangay Based; Tirso Bulatao (President) – Faith Based; Monica Nacin Ramos (President) – Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo; and Maria Teresa Broqueza (President) – Overseas Filipino Workers.
Also present during the oath-taking ceremony were: PMGen. Sermona, PLTGen Marcos, PBGen. Fama, PNP Regional Dir. Emmanuel Peralta, Col. Gayo, Cong. Espino, Vice Governor Mark Ronald DG. Lambino, BM Angel M. Baniqued Jr., Board Member Jeremy Agerico B. Rosario, Mayor Bataoil, BM Jeanne Jinky Zaplan and local chief executives in the province.
