Councilor donates computer to Tayug police
TAYUG—In memory of her late husband who was a top police officer, a neophyte lady municipal councilor has donated a complete computer set with a printer to the local police.
The donation was made by Councilor Patricia Velasco Cruz, wife of the late Senior Superintendent Igmedio Cruz, former deputy director of the Criminal Investigation and DetectionGroup in the National Capital Region.
Councilor Cruz is chairman on the committees on peace and order, and on education in the Sangguniang Bayan.
She said the police is close to her heart, her husband being a former ranking police officer and graduate of the Philippine Military Academy.
Her husband, Igmedio, died two years ago of heart failure.
Noting that the police here is ill-equipped, Cruz made her initial donation, bought from her personal funds.
The donation, she said, is her small way of supporting the local police to enable it to perform better in serving the community.
She urged other concerned citizens of Tayug to make similar donations so the local police can be more effective in performing its mission. —LM
