Calasiao centenarian gets COVID-19 jab
A 100-year-old grandma from Barangay Nagsaing in Calasiao town became the oldest Pangasinense to have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
Josefa Milagros Vallo went to the town’s vaccination center, accompanied by her relatives, on May 25 to receive her first dose of the jab.
She said she wants to continue to feel good and healthy and for protection of her family as well so she got vaccinated.
In an interview, Nanay Josefa said she never backs down from any challenge. She also urged fellow senior citizens to get vaccinated.
She even allayed fears and misconceptions on vaccines, stating she had a ‘good night’s sleep’ after being vaccinated.
Her relatives said it was Nanay Josefa’s decision to get inoculated.
Vallo is encouraging fellow senior citizens to be inoculated.
Meanwhile, Dr. Jesus Arturo de Vera, municipal health officer, said they are targeting 300 senior citizens to be vaccinated daily so that proper social distancing will be observed.
They are eyeing to inoculate about 7,000 senior citizens here. (Eva Visperas/Ahikam Pasion)
