Gov. Espino assures Pangasinenses of continuous progress in Province

“SALAMAT po sa suporta ninyo sa provincial government. Habang nandito po ako, nandito po ang mga kasamahan nating handa pong tumulong. Ituloy po natin ang progreso at pagmamahal sa probinsya ng Pangasinan.”

This was stated by Governor Amado I. Espino III as he assured that the progress of Pangasinan will keep going as he led the team of the Provincial Government in staging the Abig Pangasinan Karaban in Barangay San Vicente, Alcala on May 13.

The provincial chief executive also thanked the townsfolk of Alcala for their cooperation and sacrifices during the pandemic.

“Salamat po sa pagmamahal ninyo sa inyong pamilya at sa probinsya. Ang hinihingi ko po sainyo ay tiyaga at disiplina. Ang sakripisyo natin para proteksyonan ang ating katawan at pamilya ay malaking tulong na sa ating mga frontliner,” said Gov. Espino.

In-line with this goal, Governor Espino once again brought the different services of the Provincial Government’s Abig Pangasinan Karaban to the town of Alcala to assist Pangasinenses who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Nandito ang Abig Pangasinan na pangalawang beses nang nakarating dito sa Alcala dala ang mga serbisyo ng Probinsya ng Pangasinan. Hindi na tayo pupunta sa Kapitolyo dahil mismong ang ating Gobernador na ang pumunta dito at magbibigay ng serbisyo,” said Board Member Jerome Vic Espino.

Programs under the Abig Pangasinan Karaban includes: Kabuhayan Palengke Karaban, Karagdagang Pangkabuhayan Kalinisan Karaban, and distribution of food support program.

The Provincial Government bought a total of P30,278 worth of local products from 23 Alcala vendors under the Kabuhayan Palengke Karaban. The local products will be brought to the 14 government-run hospitals in the province and will be served as meals of patients and frontliners.

Fifteen beneficiaries of the Karagdagang Pangkabuhayan received their P400 financial grant in exchange for their assistance during the Palengke Karaban.

Under the Kalinisan Karaban program, a total of 3,556 kilos of plastic wastes were by the Provincial Government for P20.00 per kilo. Totaling to an amount of P71,120, participants from 14 barangays exchanged their plastic wastes for grocery items, school supplies, and other materials found at the Kalinisan Karaban mobile store.

In support to the Kalinisan Karaban, two units of grass cutters were received by the Barangay San Vicente and San Vicente Elementary School.

The food production support program also distributed the following: fruit-bearing tree seedlings (2270 pieces), vegetable seedlings (52 trays), water pumps (10 units), knapsack sprayers (38 units), and tilapia fingerlings (10,000 pieces) to farmer and fishermen groups in Alcala.

Information desks for the livelihood assistance program (LAP) and Tulong sa Pagsasanay at Trabaho were also at the Abig Pangasinan Karaban area.

Held on the same day was the Abig Laman ed Barangay (Mini-Kalusugan Karaban) which is a free health care caravan for the townsfolk of Alcala.

Led by the Provincial Health Office, the Abig Laman ed Barangay provided the following: Medical consultation (612 individuals), Laboratory including blood sugar testing, blood typing, urinalysis, and HBG/HCT, cholesterol and uric acid tests (332 individuals), chest x-rays (45), ECG (63), and skin disease tests (29).

Free vitamins and medicines were also distributed during the Abig Laman ed Barangay.

Board Member Chinky Perez-Tababa said, “Ang isipin natin, mas mahalaga ang kaligtasan. Kapag tayo ay ligtas ay ligtas ang ating pamilya. Itong Abig Pangasinan ay isa lamang parte ng malaking programa ng Provincial Government upang makabangon ang bawat isa.”

Alcala Mayor Jojo Callejo thanked Governor Espino and the Provincial Government of Pangasinan for bringing the program twice to their town.  /PJES
