The CSI Breakfast Feeding Project, which started July 23 in barangay Lucao, is on-going everyday in different parts of Dagupan City.

The program is in support of the social development agenda of Mayor Alipio Fernandez who envisions developing a mass base of healthy citizens, starting with the children, said Vice Mayor Belen Fernandez, also president of the sponsoring CSI Group of companies.

Vice Mayor Fernandez said the feeding program will last until September 5 when all 33 schools in the city shall have been covered.

Beneficiaries of the program are school children and pre-schoolers, targeting particularly the underweight among them.

The feeding program was launched coinciding with the observance of Nutrition Month this July by the city government spearheaded by City Nutrition Officer Leah Aquino, and supported by the City Social Welfare Office headed by Elsa Santillan.

Vice Mayor Fernandez said her company responded to the call of the city government to the private sector to extend the feeding project to more beneficiaries.

“CSI, as responsible corporate entity, is committed to the program and other programs that benefit the people, especially children,” she said.

She pledged to continue to solicit the help of multinational companies to support the city’s nutrition program.—LM
