Suspect dies in shootout with police serving arrest warrant
WHAT should have been a peaceful arrest warrant implementation turned awry when the suspect decided to shoot it out with police officers serving his arrest warrant in Barangay Pagal, San Carlos City early Wednesday morning.
Dante de Guzman aka ‘Boy de Guzman’, who refused to be arrested, fired at the team of law enforcers that was about to serve the warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Magnolia V. Cayetano, Executive Judge, Regional Trial Court, Br 56, First Judicial Region, San Carlos City, for violation of Republic Act 10591, or illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
The arresting officers retaliated and De Guzman sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of his body.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. (Ahikam Pasion)
