Jeepney drivers-operators plant tree seedlings
LTFRB REQUIREMENT
SOME 80 mahogany and tamarind seedlings were planted by members of the San Carlos City Jeepney Operators and Drivers Transport Cooperative (SCCJODTC) in Barangay Paitan last Tuesday, January 19.
The activity was in compliance with the 2020-076 memorandum circular of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) requiring tree planting by members of the public transport sector before they can renew of apply for new franchise.
The city government has been planting tree seedlings since 2003 to preserve and protect the environment and plans to develop and convert the old dump site area in Barangay Paitan into an Eco Park. (Jerick Pasiliao)
