THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) finally busted and arrested the province’s top 4 priority target in a buy-bust operation last Thursday in Barangay San Miguel, Calasiao.

PDEA Pangasinan team leader Rechie Camacho said the high value target identified as  Arnel Sanchez aka ‘Badz’, of legal age, and a resident of Sitio Aling, Barangay Pantal, Dagupan City, is known to be operating in Dagupan City and in central towns in Pangasinan.

Authorities laid out the entrapment of Sanchez Wednesday night with an undercover agent that sought to buy shabu from him.

Seized from Sanchez were eight heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, with a total weight of 1.5 grams, worth P10,000, three pieces of ‘boodle’ money (one of which was a marked money used in the operation) and one analog cellphone.

Sanchez was previously arrested in 2019 after a search warrant was served on him by authorities for violation of RA 10591. The search yielded drugs and other contrabands in his house.

He managed to skip detention with a plea bargain process instituted by the Supreme Court that allows an arrested suspect to be freed based on established terms, among them to be monitored by the barangay officialdom.

He has since violated terms of his plea bargain and returned to illegal drug peddling again. (Ahikam Pasion)
