THERE is hope that the brutal slaying of Brigadier General Marlou Chan in Calasiao town in January 2020 will still be solved.

P/Colonel Ronald Gayo, police provincial director, revealed he was set to meet with Special Investigation Task Group Chan for a briefing on the status of the investigation of the case, one of the sensational crime cases that rocked Pangasinan in 2001 that remains unsolved to this day.

Gayo said he expects to be briefed by SITG Chan what had been done and what still needs to be done to solve the case and bring the perpetrators and the mastermind before the bar of justice.

SITG Chan is composed of elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Provincial and Regional Investigation Divisions, the PNP Crime Laboratory as well as the Calasiao Police.

Chan, former police provincial director of Pangasinan, was traveling to the east direction when his car was ambushed. His driver was unscathed.

Gayo said he will also look into the status of the SITG Espino. (Leonardo Micua)
