Drunk man goes night-swimming, drowns
A 30-year-old man drowned at the Tondaligan Beach in Dagupan City when he went swimming at 7 p.m.
The victim, Jefferson Juan Carlos from Betis, Pampanga, currently residing in Barangay Tambac in Dagupan, was having a drinking spree with companion Russel Roque, at around seven in the evening, when Carlos decided to take a dip in the beach.
However, due to alleged drunkenness, he was not strong enough to overcome the undercurrent that dragged him away from the shallow shoreline.
Tondaligan lifeguards responded and managed to pull him back but was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
While Tondaligan Beach Park authorities allow visitors to stay at the beach up to 9 p.m., swimming is only allowed up until 6 p.m. (Ahikam Pasion)
