THE Rosales Police reported that one barangay and several households in three other barangays are currently on lockdown in the town since December 9 due to increased number of active COVID-19 cases to 21.

Rosales currently ranks second in the COVID-19 watch list of the Provincial Health Office trailing Dagupan City with 56 active cases.

P/Major Fernando Fernandez, chief of police of Rosales, said the local Inter-Agency Task Force for Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) recently held an emergency meeting and decided to enforce stricter health protocols.

For starters, Fernandez said the town will start filing charges against arrested violators of health protocols.

He said previously those who did not wear face masks and face shields were simply reminded, now anyone found not wearing facemask, face shields and violating curfew hours will be charged with violation of Article 151.

Rosales Police will also begin to closely monitor border choke points and quarantine checkpoints located on McArthur Highway on the Carmen and Tarlac boundary, Guiling Coliling, Barangay Salvacion and TPLEX Carmen where those entering Rosales must have travel authority and following the IATF guidelines.

The management of SM Rosales has been requested to help in the strict implementation of health and safety protocols inside the mall.
