35 groups, 2 MSMEs get P5.9-M livelihood assistance
THE Livelihood Assistance Program (LAP) of the provincial government has extended anew P5.9-million livelihood assistance to 35 groups and 2 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) on December 9 at the Sison Auditorium.
“Take care of your business. Take care of your organization, so you can take care of your families,” Governor Amado Espino III told the beneficiaries.
Espino continues to strengthen the livelihood program since it was launched in 2008 under former governor Amado T. Espino Jr. for cooperatives and entrepreneurs in the province.
He also on Pangasinenses to cooperate in the campaign against COVID-19 pandemic as the provincial government continues to support by providing necessary services.
“Dalawa lang po ang hinihingi ko: tiyaga at disiplina,” added Gov. Espino.
The 35 groups and 2 MSMEs, aiding a total of 1,915 beneficiaries from Districts 1 to 6, comprised the fourth batch of LAP beneficiaries this 2020.
Of the beneficiaries, 11 associations are new to the program while the rest are on their 2nd to 9th cycle of renewal in which the amount of loan ranges from 100k-250k.
Majority of the 35 groups are expected to utilize the loan assistance for farm inputs, commodity trading, fish processing, and goat production while the 2 MSMEs will use the assistance for danggit making, talaba, red seaworm trading, and eatery. (PIO/DAT)
