CRITICAL ZONE

THE imposition of critical zone (lockdown) of 27 household compounds in three barangays and one sitio in Calasiao town were lifted by Mayor Joseph Bauzon last October 28.

The order or the lifting of lockdown in Barangay Longos, Nagsaing and Buenlag were contained in four memoranda issued to P/Lt. Colonel Ferdinand de Asis, chief of police of Calasiao and the barangay chairmen of the three communities.

The 14 household compounds were in Longos, eight in Sitio Bacol, Longos, one in Boquig, one in Nagsaing and four household compounds in Buenlag North.

Bauzon said the lifting was ordered after the family members of COVID-19 who tested positive finally turned negative in their latest Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction test.

As of October 28, Calasiao was the fifth in the watch list of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) with 13 active cases. Only one confirmed case, a 44-year-old man (frontliner) from Barangay Bued, was added.

The new case, with no known exposure to a COVID-19 case, was found to be asymptomatic and is now confined in the community isolation facility after undergoing medical check up.

Meanwhile, a nine-household compound in Purok 2, Barangay Bued was recommended to the local IATF to be placed under critical zone. (Leonardo Micua)
