269 patients recover, death toll rises to 13

ANOTHER COVID-19 death was registered in Pangasinan when a 42-year-old female patient from San Fabian died last August 19 at the Region I Medical Center in Dagupan where she was admitted on August 16.

The 42-year woman became the 13th COVID-19 patient who died in Pangasinan since the contagion began March 16 this year, less than a month after a 69-year-old male from Labrador and a 57-year-old male from Dagupan died on July 21 and 22, respectively.

While the province suffered 13 deaths, 269 patients had recovered as of August 21, 2020 with just 36 remaining active cases still confined in hospitals and isolation facilities.

In sum, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases registered in the province rose to 317, of which 38, from different towns and 36 in Dagupan City.

Mangaldan registered its first and only COVID-19 case when a 25-year-old female was confined starting August 14.

From August 14 to August 21, the number of COVID-19 patients that recovered totaled 34 against 24 new confirmed cases, indicating that there are more patients recovering over a certain period of time than those being confined.

The latest to recover were from Bautista (20-year-old female) and 32-year old female),  Alaminos City (42-year-old female and 27-year-old male), Umingan (48-year-old and 29-year-old female; 33-year old; and 61-year-old, 23-year old and  44-year-old male), Sual  (32-year-old female, 1-year-old female, 12-year-old and 6-year old male; 36-year old,  69-year old,  64-year old and  29-year old male), Labrador (52-year-old male), Lingayen (56-year-old male); and a 50-year old female from Villasis.

Urdaneta City (59-year-old,  32-year old and two 36-year old male), Rosales (67-year-old female), Urbiztondo (39-year-old and 50-year-old male), Basista (52-year old male), Pozorrubio (37-year-old female), San Nicolas ( 56-year-old and 39-year old female and 12-year-old male), Bayambang (25-year-old female), Alcala (28-year-old male).

Sual registered the biggest number of recoveries from August 14 to 19 making the town as COVID-free again.  Records showed Sual had 16 COVID-19 patients that earlier recovered.

The new confirmed cases for the period are from Sta. Barbara, Binmaley, Villasis, Bugallon, San Carlos City, Bolinao, Malasiqui, Bolinao, Laoac, Urbiztondo, Mangaldan, Sta. Barbara, Alaminos City, Calasiao and Bugallon.

On August 20, the new confirmed cases were from Aguilar, Mangaldan, Sta. Barbara, Umingan, Bolinao and Natividad.

No new confirmed case and no new recovery was  registered by the PHO on August 21. (Leonardo Micua)
