DOST completes assessment of 3 MSMEs
SMALL Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP) applicants from Pangasinan underwent an Technology Needs Assessment (TNA) Validation online last August 4 and 5, 2020 under the auspices of the DOST 1 Regional Program Management Office, in collaboration with DOST Pangasinan S&T Center Satellite Office.
Due to the restrictions posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the usual validation processes have shifted to online platform.
The TNA Validation, facilitated and moderated by SETUP Regional Program.
Three (3) MSMEs, namely, Elisha Bay Dagupan Bangus and Seafoods, Mang Ador’s Food Products, and Dimalupig and Gabrielle Food Products Trading were assessed during the 2-day validation.
Meanwhile, nine (9) community-based organizations from LGU Natividad requested for technology assistance: RIC San Vicente, Dupac Farmers Association, Inc., Barangay Alacan Farmers Association, Inc., Bileg Ti Panagmay-maysa Farmers Association, Salokag Natividad Farmers, Poblacion East & Salud Farmers Association, Canarem Rural Improvement Club, Canarem Farmer’s Association, Inc., and Barangobong Natividad Farmers Association.
The TNA Validation confirmed the assessment made by the PSTC staff on the technology needs of the firms and associations and their management, supply, marketing and financial aspects of operations.
Also discussed other DOST-generated technologies that are ready for roll-out not identified during the assessment and are appropriate for their operations.
DOST 1 continues to embark on its programs and projects set for the year through available online media and other resources, ensuring public service continuity of science technology and innovation for the people of Region 1. (DOST 1/MF)
