Barangays-PTA collaboration secured
FOR MODULAR LEARNING
THE Liga ng mga Barangay of Dagupan City and the Dagupan City National High School (DCNHS) inked a partnership to support the needs of students for the implementation of the modular learning.
The memorandum of agreement was sought by the Parents-Teachers Association for DCNHSÂ led by its president Liway Yparraguirre, with the Liga ng mga Barangay, led by Councilor Marcelino Fernandez to help implement the new educational system.
DCNHS Senior High School Principal Renato Santillan said the two-week
simulation for online and modular classes held to prepare for the shift identified the need for transport to enable the delivery to-and-from barangays of the modules that students need to study on a weekly basis to move because of lack of public transport, expensive fare for tricycles and day job of parents preventing them to get the modules from the school.
The junior and senior high school have a combined population of 8,000 students and as of July, 90 percent have enrolled.
The Liga has committed to provide the pick-up and delivery of the modules to the barangays’ students.
Both Santillan and Junior High School Principal Medarlo de Leon expressed their thanks to both the PTA and Liga ng mga Barangay for their support to ensure the successful implementation of the new system.
For his part, Liga President Fernandez said the help of the barangays in the effort amid the pandemic. (PIA-Pangasinan/VHS)
