Travel of residents to MECQ areas banned in San Carlos City
IN a bid to check infection from returning residents, the San Carlos City government has effectively banned its residents from traveling to Metro Manila and other provinces whose status have been reverted to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) because of high incidence of COVID-19
The city government has begun implementing the ban by suspending the issuance of travel authority to local residents going to Metro Manila that were reverted back to the category of MECQ.
The order was issued by Mayor Julier Resuello, head of the local Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Infectious Diseases (IATF), on the recommendation of the local police that noted the increase in arrivals of Local Stranded Individuals (LSIs) in Pangasinan.
The travel ban covers travel to the National Capital Region or Metropolitan Manila and the provinces of Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite and Laguna, all placed under MECQ.
The travel ban will be enforced until August 15. (Leonardo Micua)
