VILLASIS, COVID-19 FREE AGAIN

THE lone COVID-19 case in Villasis, a 45-year-old man from Barangay Bacag was among the five patients reported by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) to have recovered on August 6.

This patient was a locally stranded individual (LSI) who arrived on July 11 from Metro Manila who suffered colds, cough and fever one week later.

He consulted a private clinic near Villasis and was advised to undergo throat swab for Reverse Transcription Polymerase test that confirmed he was COVID-19 positive. He was confined at the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan.

Mayor Nonato Abrenica happily announced to his constituents that the recovery of the patient has made Villasis COVID-19 free again.

He also announced that the three persons who were suspected of contracting COVID -19 has also recovered. These were: the female neighbor of the first COVID-19 positive in Barangay Bacag who was confined at the Municipal Isolation Facility in Barangayt Unzad tested negative in her RT-PCR test; an employee of LBC from Barangay Barangobong and a pregnant woman from Barangay Tombod who were
brought to the municipal isolation facility.

All three have been allowed to go home to continue their 14-day quarantine.

Mayor Abrenica said the only case left at the municipal isolation facility is a fireman from La Union and who was on duty at the Villasis Fire Station for only three days.

The fireman, the mayor said, is in good health condition and is just awaiting the results of his RT-PCR test. (Leonardo Micua)
