Barangay in Sual ordered locked down due to COVID-19

TWO sitios in Sual, Sitio Cauayan Hills and Kusinero in Barangay Cauayan, were ordered locked down or on community quarantine on August 2 when they registered four new confirmed COVID-19 cases.

This was contained in Executive Order No. 42, series of 2020 issued by Mayor Liseldo “Dong” Calugay on August 2.

Calugay, in his executive order, directed that the two sitios, only one individual per household will be allowed to go outside of their residence for essential purposes.

The local police has set up quarantine checkpoints in all entry and exit points of Barangay Cauayan.

As of August 2, Sual already has 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases, eight of whom are confined and 10 have recovered.

Of the 1,367 persons under monitoring in the town, 1,272 already completed their 14-day quarantine while 35 are still under quarantine.

The only two probable or suspected COVID-19 cases registered in the town have already recovered. (Leonardo Micua)
