Pangasinan, one of lowest COVID-19 cases
PANGASINAN, which remains under the Modified General Community Quarantine and recently classified by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases as a low-risk area, still has the lowest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among the top 10 most populous provinces in the Philippines as of July 19, 2020.
According to the Department of Health (DOH) case tracker, Pangasinan, the sixth most populous province in the country today with a population of 2,956,726, is ranked 10th in the list with least COVID-19 cases with 145.
Cebu, the most populous province in the country with a population of 4,632,329, has 10,992 confirmed COVID-19 cases and is emerging as the new epicenter of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines.
Laguna, the fifth most populous province of the country with 3,035,081, recorded 12,615 cases, followed by Rizal, the seventh most populous province with 2,884,227, is the third in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country with 1,367 cases.
Cavite, the country’s second most populous province with 3,678,301, registered the fourth highest number of COVID-19 cases among the 10 most populous provinces in the Philippines, according to the statistics.
Fifth in the totem pole with 856 coronavirus cases is Bulacan with 3,292,071 population, the third highest in the country.
Batangas, the country’s eighth most populous province with 2,694,335 population, was the sixth highest in the number of COVID-19 cases at 543.
In seventh place is Iloilo, the country’s 10 most populous province with 2,697,335, registered 543 coronavirus cases.
In eighth place with 359 COVID-19 cases is Negros Occidental, the country’s 4th most populous province with 3,059,106 population.
Finally, in the ninth place with 297 cases is Pampanga, the ninth most populous province in the country with a population of 21,609,744. (Leonardo Micua)
