COMPLETION of all access roads leading to different tourism destinations in the Fourth District is going on in full blast as the province enters the new normal phase in this period of pandemic.

Fourth District Rep. Christopher de Venecia, who initiated all the road projects, said the resumption of work of these infrastructures restored jobs and additional income to his constituents and help resuscitate the economy in the district.

Work on all the road projects grounded to a halt when Luzon was placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine three months ago that resulted in loss of livelihood for the construction workers.

It can be recalled that before the onset of the pandemic brought by COVID-19, the construction of the projects already started following talks by Congressman De Venecia with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Department of Tourism (DOT).

The TRIPC projects under construction are the Esplanade and Boardwalk in Barangay Pantal with a budget of P75 million; San Jacinto-Manaoag Road from Dagupan City going to the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Manaoag and Virgins Well, P152.4 million; Urdaneta-Manaoag road leading to the Manaoag Basilica and Virgin’s Well, P237.5 million.

Already completed are: the access roads leading to the San Fabian beach and leading to the soon-to be constructed Angalacan River Ecotourism Park in Mangaldan; access road leading to the Tondaligan Park in Dagupan City; Sta. Barbara-Mapandan-Manaoag road leading  to the Minor Basilica of  Manaoag and the Pandan Avenue and Fire Tree Avenue leading to the  Minor Basilica of Manaoag. (Leonardo Micua)
