MASS TESTING OF 843

THE mass testing in Pangasinan will not achieve its objectives because of the experienced delay in the return of results of submitted tests from the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, the authorized testing center in Region 1.

Anna Teresa de Guzman, provincial health officer, cited the arrival of only 267 results (32%) last Monday out of 843 tests from frontliners, PUIs and their families.

De Guzman said one case from those that arrived tested positive – the 29-year-old male from Barangay Dupac, Asingan., an Authorized Person Outside Residence (APOR) who arrived in Pangasinan from Metro Manila last May 13.

Meanwhile, a 15-year-old female who lives in the same compound as the confirmed case in Asingan also tested positive for Covid-19. She felt the symptoms on May 7, tested on May 13, and her confirmatory result arrived May 17.

“She is currently on strict home quarantine”, said de Guzman as she reminded residents to refrain from unnecessary travels, particularly to Metro Manila. (Ahikam Pasion)
