4 foreign students, 9 others arrested for not wearing masks
THIRTEEN persons, among them four foreign students, were apprehended early morning of April 19 while jogging along the Jose de Venecia Expressway Extension without wearing face masks.
They were all brought to the Dagupan City Police Station and booked for violation of Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines.
Arrested were Rivo de la Cruz, 32, of Pantal Centro, Jeorge Soriano, 18, of Poblacion Oeste; Edgardo Anao, 46, of Sitio Calima, Pantal; Ruel Esmas, 27, of Poblacion Oeste; Jason Marquez, 23, of Calmay; Jerson Astadan, 26, of Calmay; Kenneth Ober, 26, of Calmay; David Barantes, of Pantal Centro; and Anthony Flores, 18, of Pantal Centro.
Arrested foreign students were Usman Abteleje Abokor, 26, an Ethiopian; Ahmwed Abdulrhaman Hamoud, 28, Mohamed Sheikh Guned, 28; and Mohamed Musse, 28, all Somalians, and are temporarily residing at Tapuac, Dagupan City.
Last week, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Dagupan passed the ordinance making mandatory the wearing of masks by any person outside of his or her residence. (Leonardo Micua)
