Misting operations ordered in critical areas

THE provincial government went on the offensive to combat COVID-19 in the province by disinfecting critical areas by conducting misting cannon operations in towns and specific target areas.

Responders from Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and Provincial Engineering Office initially conducted misting operations in the towns of Tayug, Binalonan, Alaminos, and Infanta, and the farmers’ pavillion of Provincial Agriculture Office in Tebag, Sta. Barbara, the Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital based in Tayug.

Responders covered main districts and public markets while hospital beds, and other materials in the hospitals were brought out for disinfection.

Barangay Balangobong in Binalonan was also visited.

Gov. Amado Espino III directed the misting cannon operations to disinfect and sanitize the areas where suspected COVID-19 subjects were earlier reported.

The Farmers’ Pavillion at the Provincial Agriculture Office in Sta. Barbara was disinfected to prepare for the arrival of first batch of patients. The pavilion was converted into a half-way house where recovered Patients Under Investigation (PUI) will stay for 15 days for continuous monitoring of their health conditions.

As a safety protocol, all responders wore the prescribed personal protective gears during the operation. (PIO/ MGMO)
