Starting a trinkets business using recycled newspapers
DON’T throw away your old newspapers.
One can recycle these into various personal and home items or even make curios that can be sold for good prices in tourist shops.
Dagupan City Councilor Jeslito Seen is organizing a series of seminars for barangays of Dagupan to teach housewives and children vacationing from school on how to produce pouches, bags, bracelets, rosaries, bracelets and other items from old newspapers.
Seen launched the project at the Malued Elementary School on Nov. 24 attended by 250 children and adults, including beneficiaries of the government’s 4Ps poverty alleviation program.
Baby Panopio, president and founder of “Abubot at Iba Pa” that makes such items and sells these at SM Rosales, conducted the seminar.
The seminar was organized in cooperation with Malued Barangay Captain Rosendo Tamayo and Kagawad Filipina de los Santos and the Parents Teachers Association (PTA).
Seen said items produced at the Dagupan barangays will be sold at the CSI the City Mall and Petron Lucao.
Seen earlier initiated the “Plastic Mo, Bigas Ko, Palit Tayo” project together with the Rotary Club of Central Pangasinan headed by Andy Sy.
