THE Dagupan City government has finally closed the 60-year old garbage dump site in Barangay Bonuan Boquig on the third week of January for rehabilitation following the order issued by DENR regional office last December.

Waste Management Division Chief Bernard Cabison said the Lim administration is serious in rehabilitating the dumpsite.

“We are strictly implementing the ‘No Segregation, No Collection’ policy in the city and we make sure  it is being implemented in every barangay in the city,” Cabison told the KBP Forum.

He said various levels of inspection are done by the Clean Marshals to ensure that wastes are properly segregated and only residuals can reach the containment area.

Cabison said some hospitals already hired scavengers to segregate their garbage to comply with the ordinance. (PIA-1/VHS)
