A bridge linking two hilly precipices in San Fabian will soon be built through the joint efforts of Deputy Speaker Conrado Estrella III (Abono Partylist) and Fourth District Rep. Christopher de Venecia.

The 90-lineal meter Tiblong-Bigbiga bridge broke ground and its cornerstone laid on Friday in a ceremony attended by the two congressmen, Mayor Constante Agbayani, Vice Mayor Marilor de Guzman and Second Highway District Engineer Edita Manuel who represented Department of Public Works Regional Director Ronel Tan.

Mayor Agbayani said the bridge will be a dream come true as he always wondered since if a bridge span will ever be constructed that will connect Barangay Tiblong to Barangay Bigbiga since his boyhood to benefit residents of Barangays Bigbiga, Bolaoen, Gumot, Inmalog Sur and Inmmalog Norte.

The initial funding of the project was sourced by Deputy Speaker Estrella but the remaining amount of P150 million will be through the initiative of Congressman de Venecia.

Estrella said the P250 million fund will be drawn from the infrastructure project of the DPWH as a part of the Build, Build, Build program of President Rodrigo Duterte.

The road in these villages lead to Sison town onward to Rosario, La Union.

Cong. De Venecias hailed the construction of the Tiblong-Bigbiga Bridge because it will pump prime the economy as well as spur the tourism potentials of  the upland barangays  of San Fabian.

Estrella said as soon as the bridge is constructed, it would be easier for the people of Sison to get to San Fabian and Dagupan as they need not pass anymore through the old route starting in Pozorrubio and Manaoag. (Leonardo Micua)
