6 Pangasinan science wiz kids cited
THE provincial board commended six science wizards of the Pangasinan National High School (PNHS) for winning in the International Exhibition for young inventors held in Indonesia on October 23-26.
The commendation was contained in the Provincial Resolution No. 293-2019, authored by all members of the SP and passed during the regular session on November 18.
Jeremy P. Hortaleza earned a gold medal for his project, “e-Torrent: Electricity Generating Flexible Free-standing Flood Barrier System.,” while Christian N. Vintayen, Carol B. Limos and Genesis Faith R. Orjalo won silver medals for their projects, namely: “Anti-dynamite Fishing Device,” and “Landslide and Earthquake Alarm Signaling System.”
Bronze medalists were Marhiane Grace Hidalgo and Hortaleza Samantha Haezel Z. Doroteo their “SMART Meter with Consumption Calculator using IOT Technology,” and 3D Printing of Functionalized Nanocrystals for Biomedical Applications via Steriolithography.”
Hortaleza and Vintayen’s inventions also received special awards: JIII Encouragement Award from Japan, and TECHNOPOL Innovation Award from Russia while Doroteo garnered two other special awards from Macau and China, Silver Award in Invention and Outstanding Invention Award. (PIO/SMDG)
