CSOs urged involvement in participatory governance
THE
provincial government is encouraging
Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to get involved in local governance.
The invitation was aired during the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)
Conference on August 9 at the Pangasinan Training and Development Center that
gathered the top officials and representatives of federated provincial
associations of CSOs.
CSO is the umbrella organization of non-government
organizations, sectoral groups (business sector, private sector among others),
and other peoples organizations.
Randy dela Rosa, Provincial DILG Director, said the conference was held to
brief both the registered or unregistered CSOs on their functions in local
special bodies of the provincial government. Local Special Bodies (LSBs)
include: Provincial Development Council, local health board, local school
board, and the peace and order council. (PIO/MGNO)
