Seachon (seafood-lechon), a must try
THERE is a new food delicacy making waves today.
Try Seachon -Pinoy favorite dish,
lechon, with seafoods stuffed inside its belly while being roasted.
Jonathan “Jonas” Cruz, 40, of Barangay Bued, Zone1, Calasiao, who
popularized the first lechon with seafoods or “seachon”, started his
lechon business six years ago.

Seachon hits it big.
He said it started when his dad wanted
to eat lechon and Jonas gladly acceded to the request. The family enjoyed it
and the rest was history. More friends
and politician acquaintances began ordering his lechon for special occasions.
Soon, Jonas tried to innovate. If Cebu lechon made its mark, he experimented on
stuffing the lechon with seafoods inside the pig’s belly while being roasted.
He said the combination was logical because nearby Dagupan City abounds with
seafoods and priced reasonably.
When he posted in Facebook his “seachon” product innovation which
easily gained popularity, he said some tried to imitate it. However, he said
they never equaled the unique taste of his seachon.
“It’s in the taste. It’s in the love you put in it,” Jonas said.
Clients easily book their orders by sending message to his Facebook page Jonas
Lechon where his contact numbers are also posted. He personally communicates
with them and a 50 percent down payment is asked from his clients to ensure the
transaction is not a hoax.
“The” seachon” is delivered right at their doorstep at the
appointed time,” he said.
Their “seachon” has free sauce with dinuguan, egado and one kilo each
of Calasiao puto and Mangatarem tupig.
His lechon costs from P6,000-P8,500 depending on the sizes available. An
additional P1,500 is charged each order for the seafoods (bare shrimps, crabs,
alimasag, clam and tahong). (PhilStar
