UPang Flames unite for mass blood donation

THE Pangasinan Red Cross collected 539 blood bags by the time the last donor stood up by the end of the Mass Blood Donation held at the PHINMA University of Pangasinan Students’ Plaza organized by the Medical Technology Students Association.

Early morning, hundreds of students and faculty members registered for screening to determine if they qualify to donate.

Kenneth Samera, 18, a freshman Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science, on his third blood donation said: “Nakaka-kaba at nakakatakot at pag katapos noon ay gugustuhin mo pang umulit.. Akala ko noon bilang estudyante eh wala pa akong maitutulong sa lipunan, pero meron pala akong dugo na makapagligtas ng tatlong buhay.”

Rommel V. Garcia, a college instructor in the university said it is also his third time donating and he will continue doing it.

Pauline C. Catinguel, METSA president, thanked the students and faculty members who readily responded to the call for donation. (Melody Valenton)
