Man arrested for rape of 2 nieces
BUGALLON—The police have filed Wednesday
multiple counts of rape against a man in this town who allegedly sexually
abused his two teenage nieces, one of them already pregnant.
P/Major Jake Isidro, town police chief, said charged was Enrique Sorio, 35, an
unemployed, from Barangay Samat this town and his victims are aged 16 and 13,
both studying in a public school.
The victims’ mother accidentally found out about the crime when she saw a
pregnancy kit test in their house hidden in a flower pot on Tuesday.
She confronted her daughters and found out that they have been repeatedly raped
by the suspect several times and threatened to kill them if they report it to
anyone.
An examination made by a doctor showed the 16-year old victim is already nine
weeks pregnant.
She said she has been repeatedly raped since 2015 while the sexual abuses made
on her younger sister started last year.
Their mother worked abroad in 2015 but is now back in the Philippines as vendor
in Metro Manila, Isidro said.
Their mother asked the suspect who is her cousin to look after her two daughters while she was away.
With them in the house are their maternal grandmother and great grandmother but both were unaware of the sexual abuses on the two sisters, Isidro said.
Sorio is currently detained at the town police station’s lock-up cell pending the issuance of commitment order by the court for his transfer to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology. (PhilStar Wire Service)
