Unheralded rider rules 10th Jazy Cycling Cup
THE prominent local riders were no match this time to largely unknown rider Bonijoe Martin of Villasis after he ruled the 10th Jazy Cycling Cup six categorized bikefest held on March 23.
Martin broke away from the main pack of 23 star-studded riders and eventually outsprinted his two breakaway partners Mark Ryan Lago of Pampanga and Spanish rider Edgar Nieto in the last 300 meters to claim his first big win in Pangasinan to pocket the P3,000 top prize.
The top three winners received a trophy apiece while fourth placer Arjay Peralta of Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija and fifth finisher Marcelo Felipe of Llanera, Nueva Ecija received a medal each.
Second to fifth placers received cash prizes from the sponsoring Excellent Noodles and Go for Gold companies of Alex Billan and Jeremy Go, respectively.
